Basis
The spread between a perpetual (or futures) price and the underlying spot or index. Persistent positive basis can accompany bullish positioning; negative basis the opposite.

Short definitions for crypto perpetual markets, order-flow concepts and Tradeiz product terms.
Definitions here are educational summaries, not investment advice. For venue-specific contract specs, always confirm with the exchange or protocol documentation.

How often a venue settles funding payments — commonly every 1h, 4h or 8h depending on the exchange or DEX. Tradeiz normalises rates for cross-venue comparison.
See also: Funding rate
A periodic payment exchanged between long and short positions on a perpetual contract. A positive rate means longs pay shorts; a negative rate means shorts pay longs.
See also: Perpetual, Funding arbitrage
A composite spot reference built from multiple exchanges or oracles. Venues use it to compute mark price and fair-value funding.

Borrowed notional relative to posted margin. Higher leverage amplifies PnL and liquidation risk; Tradeiz surfaces positioning and liquidation metrics but does not offer leverage itself.
See also: Liquidation, Maintenance margin
Forced closure of a leveraged position when margin falls below the maintenance requirement. Liquidation events appear in Tradeiz liquidation feeds and heatmaps.
See also: Liquidation cascade, Mark price
A chain reaction where forced closes push price further, triggering additional liquidations. Clusters are visible in cross-venue liquidation dashboards.
See also: Liquidation, Heatmap
The proportion of accounts or volume positioned long versus short on a venue. Extreme readings can flag crowded trades in sentiment dashboards.
See also: Sentiment dashboard, Open interest
Minimum collateral required to keep a leveraged position open. Falling below it triggers liquidation at the venue — not on Tradeiz.
See also: Leverage, Liquidation
The fair-value reference price venues use for unrealised PnL and liquidation triggers, often derived from an index plus a basis component. Differs from last traded price during stress.
See also: Index price, Basis
The total number of outstanding perpetual contracts that have not been closed. Rising OI with price often signals new positioning; falling OI can mean positions are being unwound.
See also: Perpetual, Cross-venue
A derivative contract with no fixed expiry that tracks an underlying index price. Perpetual swaps use funding payments to keep the contract price aligned with spot.

Whether a trade lifted the offer (buy aggressor) or hit the bid (sell aggressor). Tradeiz tags prints for delta and large-trade analytics.
See also: Delta, Large trades
Net aggressive buy volume minus aggressive sell volume over a window. Positive delta suggests buyers hitting the offer; negative delta suggests sellers hitting the bid.
See also: Aggressor side, Footprint
Resting limit orders on the book at each price level. Depth heatmaps visualise where liquidity sits and how it changes over time.
See also: Order book, Heatmap
An order-flow chart overlay showing bid/ask volume traded inside each candle, often split by price level. Helps intraday traders see absorption and aggression.
See also: Volume profile, Delta
Individual fills that exceed a venue- or user-defined notional threshold. Surfaced in the Large Trades feed and as on-chart markers.
See also: Order flow, Real-time feed
The live queue of bid and ask limit orders for a symbol. Tradeiz streams normalised depth snapshots and updates from supported venues.
See also: Depth, WebSocket streams
The sequence and size of aggressive and passive trades plus book changes. Order-flow tools help read who is initiating and where liquidity is consumed.
See also: Footprint, Delta
A histogram of volume traded at each price level over a chosen range. Highlights value areas and high-volume nodes on the chart.

Centralised exchange — a custodial venue that matches orders on its own infrastructure (e.g. Binance, OKX, Bybit).
See also: DEX, Cross-venue
Metrics or views that aggregate or compare multiple exchanges under the same symbol and timeframe — funding, OI, liquidations and positioning dashboards.
See also: Normalised schema, Screener
Decentralised exchange or on-chain perpetual protocol where settlement occurs on a blockchain or app-chain (e.g. Hyperliquid, dYdX).

Tradeiz’s unified field naming and units across venues so the same API query or chart symbol works regardless of upstream exchange quirks.

Low-latency market data delivered over WebSocket with near-exchange timestamps. Used by the chart workspace and programmatic stream clients.

A rule that notifies you when price, indicator or platform conditions are met. Delivery channels vary by subscription tier.

Strategies that exploit funding-rate differentials between venues or between perp and spot. Tradeiz’s DEX Funding Arb page surfaces live spreads for research.

Colour-coded grids (e.g. RSI Heatmap, liquidation heatmap) that surface outliers and regime shifts across many symbols at once.
